How I clean
your carpets and upholstery

Hot water extraction is my usual method in the home. We talk through what the clean can and can't do first, then I vacuum, treat the spots and stains, pre-spray and rinse the dirt out.

Before I start, we look it over together

I look at the carpet or the fabric with you first. If there might be limitations, I let you know then, before any water goes down, so you know what to expect.

  • What the carpet or fabric is, so the pre-spray suits it
  • Which spots and stains should lift, and any that might not
  • The result you can expect when I've finished

I won't quote you one price and then offer a more expensive method when I arrive. The price I quote is the price you pay.

What happens on the day, step by step

Most homes get hot water extraction. For businesses I also use low moisture cleaning, so the floor is back in use quickly. Commercial cleaning

  1. 1

I look it over with you

We check the carpet or fabric together. I let you know about any limitations and the likely result before I start.

  2. 2

    A thorough vacuum

I lift the loose dirt and grit out first.

  3. 3

    Spots and stains

Each spot and stain gets its own treatment before the main clean.

  4. 4

    Pre-spray, worked in

A pre-spray that suits the material, agitated into the pile or the fabric.

  5. 5

    A short dwell

I leave the pre-spray a short while to loosen the dirt.

  6. 6

    Extraction

Hot water extraction rinses the pile and pulls the loosened dirt out.

  7. 7

    Protector, if you want it

Applied last, to help guard against new spills. Ask about the offers.

Drying time depends on the carpet or fabric. A deep, thorough clean and powerful vacuum motors keep it to a minimum.

The two machines I clean with

Both are professional hot water extraction machines, market leaders in carpet cleaning. The Powr Flite works at up to 500psi and the Airflex Storm at up to 800psi.

Airflex Stormprofessional hot water extraction

Powerful vacuum motors on both. They pull the water back out, so your carpets are left as dry as possible after cleaning.

What I use, and what's included

  • Extraction wand rinsing a light grey carpet, a fresh clean lane behind it

    Data sheets for every product

Ask, and I'll give you the data sheet for anything I use in your home.

  • Red patterned pub carpet part cleaned, the cleaned side bright and the rest dull

Basic stain treatment and deodoriser included

Both come as standard. Tougher stains, such as pet accidents or makeup, cost extra, and I agree that with you first.

  • Dining room with oak chairs standing on a clean patterned wool rug

    Protector at the end

If you'd like a carpet or upholstery protector, it goes on last. Ask about the current offers.

  • Jones of Church Eaton van with its carpet and upholstery cleaning livery
